This 33-Foot-Wingspan RC Boeing 777 Actually Flies—and the Landing Looks Shockingly Real

A giant radio-controlled Boeing 777 has gone from an ambitious workshop project to fully functioning aircraft. In a YouTube Short, the creator behind the Ramy RC YouTube channel shows the enormous model beside him, then sends it down a paved RC runway for takeoff, aerial passes, and a landing that looks almost too composed.

The footage arrives a year after the massive Boeing 777 project was completed. The fuselage and wing sit around waist height next to a full-grown adult, while the blue-and-white body carries large BOEING lettering along its side just like the real thing.

This is not a small RC jet enlarged by camera angles. The model is the Boeing 777-9X and wears a very realistic version of the airliner’s scheme. White dominates the upper fuselage, dark blue runs beneath it, and the tail carries a blue gradient with “777” stamped onto the fin.

This 777 Is Big Enough To Need Its Own Runway

Ramy RC describes the model as having a scale of 1:7, featuring a wingspan of 33 feet (10 meters) and a total mass of a whopping 630 pounds (285 kilograms).

The close-up shots show where the effort went. The builder leans across the upper fuselage and wing, making the scale difficult to miss. The swept wing has a realistic profile and visible flex, with two large turbofan-style nacelles underneath. Multi-wheel landing gear, flap mechanisms, and landing-gear doors are functional parts of the build rather than painted decoration.

According to Popular Science, the aircraft is powered by two electric ducted fans. The design incorporates CNC-cut foam components that are strengthened with carbon fiber, in addition to the necessary wiring and mechanical systems for controlling a 285-kilogram aircraft.

The 2026 aircraft also dwarfs an earlier Ramy RC 777-9X project from 2018. The previous version had a scale of 1:20, a wingspan of 3.6 meters, a fuselage length of 3.8 meters, and weighed 22 kilograms. The construction used a number of materials such as foam, balsa wood, plywood, fiberglass, epoxy, and carbon-fiber rods. The newer airplane is a different level of undertaking entirely.

The Flight Looks Crazy Real

The aircraft rolls along a purpose-built paved runway bordered by grass and trees before accelerating into a smooth climb. Once airborne, the video follows it through a broad circuit: climbing away, passing at low altitude, banking gently, approaching nearly head-on, disappearing toward the tree line, and finally setting up for another runway approach.

The front-facing views are the most convincing. The narrow fuselage, long swept wings, broad engine nacelles, and slight wing movement briefly sell the illusion of a real passenger jet. During part of the flight, the landing gear is kept extended, and as the model approaches for landing, it deploys the gear again for a direct descent before either touching down or rolling closely along the runway.

This could well be the largest RC Boeing 777-9X, but really, this massive, electrically operated scale model behaves like a full-sized airliner, capable of taxiing, flying, turning, approaching, and landing. And that is so damn impressive.
